Off Campus Event, Strawbridge Observatory, Haverford College, Walton Ln, Ardmore, PA 19003
Hello everyone! This Saturday (11/08), 7-9 PM*, we will be hosting 鈥淎 Squirrel鈥檚 Guide to the Galaxy,鈥 a Sci-Fi-themed event centered around the different ways people have blended creativity, curiosity, and science through storytelling. We will have student talks**, crafts and demos, dome tours, and (weather permitting) telescope viewings!
If we have bad weather, we will be having planetarium shows in place of student talks and telescope viewing. The planetarium has limited capacity. We will be screening 鈥淛ourney to Mars鈥 with shows running 4 times throughout the night. Tickets for each show will be handed out at the door throughout the night on a first-come first-serve basis. We ask that you start lining up outside the back observatory door (there will be volunteers to guide you) ~ 5-10min before the start of your show, but not before that. We find that the earlier shows are always busiest, so coming later and taking the later show tickets will allow you more space to stretch inside the planetarium.
*These hours are drop-in! You won't miss anything if you come later.
**We will have talks at 7:15 and 8:15 PM. The first talk will be鈥淔act or Myth: Sci-Fi Movies" and the second talk will be 鈥淪pace in Ancient Stories鈥.

Please don鈥檛 come early for our events, as you will have to wait outside. Due to capacity issues when the skies are clear and our events are popular, we may have to ask people to wait outside/explore outside activities when the building is at capacity. We ask for your patience with this. Coming later can result in shorter waits.
